Oceans..A few facts
Largest Ocean :
The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean covering one third of the Earth. At its widest point it stretches up to 19,800km, almost halfway round the world !
Smallest Ocean :
It's the Arctic Ocean covering about 14,056,000 sq. km.
Coldest Ocean :
The Arctic Ocean. Most of the year, it stays frozen & solid. In some places the ice can measure up to 1.5km thick. The Arctic is also dotted with thousands of icebergs.
Warmest Ocean :
The Indian Ocean is the warmest as well as the third largest ocean in the world. The temperature of the surface water can reach 35.6 degrees Centigrade!
